Tonawandas offer a busy summer on both sides of the Canal

The twin cities of North Tonawanda and the City of Tonawanda share several summer events leading up the 35th anniversary of Canal Fest on July 16-23.

But you don't have to wait until July. Events begin this weekend.

  • June 3 and 4 - Weekend on the Niagara Craft Show, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Niagara Street at City of Tonawanda Bandshell
  • June 4  - Taste of the Tonawandas, noon to 7 p.m. in the Tonawandas Gateway Harbor, Sweeney and Webster streets, North Tonawanda.
  • June 9 - Eldridge Bicycle Club will partner with Slow Roll Buffalo for a Pedal Party, 7 to 11 p.m., riders assemble at 6 p.m. at the Eldridge Bicycle Club, 17 Broad St., City of Tonawanda. After the ride there will be food trucks, beverages and a free concert.
  • June 14 will begin Wednesday Concerts on the Canal, with a 6 p.m. opening band each night and 8 p.m. headliner in Gateway Harbor Park, North Tonawanda.
