Yoga, farmers markets top summer events on Medical Campus

The Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus is kicking off summer with a smorgasbord of free activities on campus and in its surrounding neighborhoods.

Here are some favorites:

  • Walking with the Wellness Institute of Greater Buffalo: The Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus Inc. offers the walks from 12:10 to 12:40 p.m. every Wednesday through Aug. 30. Walks begin and end at Roswell Park Cancer Institute’s Kaminski Park at Elm and Carlton streets.
  • Two markets return with fresh, homegrown fruits and vegetables for sale at farmers markets at Roswell's Kaminski Park from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesdays from June through September.
  • There is a Massachusetts Avenue Project mobile market at the Moot Community Center, 202 High St., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays from June to October.
  • Yoga classes will be held in Colby Park from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. Wednesdays in Colby Park, next to the parking garage at 134 High St. and Michigan Avenue. This begins June 7 and runs through Aug. 23. It is sponsored by Independent Health and YMCA Buffalo Niagara.
