WALTERS, Clayton Ralph

WALTERS - Clayton Ralph Passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in Tucson, Arizona at the age of 90 years. The son of Ralph and Florence Walters was born on December 22, 1926 in Angola, NY. Husband of Jean (deceased) (nee Nicholson); father of Richard, Joseph, (Tina) Robert and William (deceased); brother of James (deceased); sister Val (nee Melva); also survived by grandchildren Melanie and Matthew and nephews. At the age of 17, he served in World War II as signal man and gunner's mate for the U.S. Navy aboard Armed Guard vessels from the US to Europe and Russia. He lived his family and working life in Lackawanna, NY as a Bethlehem Steel machinist and an active member of USW Local Union 2602. Clayton chose Tucson as his retirement home for nearly 35 years enjoying its people and countryside. A family "Ashes to Ashes" Memorial will be held in Brant, NY at a date to be announced later.
