The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for northwestern Cattaraugus County, southwestern Erie County and northeastern Chautauqua County until 7:45 p.m.
At 6:11 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near Fredonia, moving northeast at 20 mph, the Weather Service said.
Potential hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and half-dollar-sized hail. Minor damage to vehicles, trees and power lines is possible, the Weather Service advised. Affected areas include Gowanda, Silver Creek, Evangola State Park, Collins, Sheridan, Dayton, Arkwright and Forestville, including I-90 near Exit 58.
