A Highgate Avenue man in his mid-30s is being sought by Buffalo police for allegedly violently punching a 17-year-old Cheektowaga girl during an after-school program at St. Mary's School for the Deaf, at 2257 Main St., officials reported Saturday.
The girl's mother just told police about the incident that allegedly happened at the school a month ago. She said the man repeatedly struck her daughter about her abdomen, and the girl was in such pain she had to be taken to Erie County Medical Center for treatment.
The incident occurred during an after-school program run by the Heritage Centers of WNY, officials said. The unidentified suspect faces possible arrest on a felony charge of second-degree assault due to the severity of the girl's injuries, according to officials.
