Daemen distance runner places ninth

Mackenzie Donahue saved her best lap for last. The Daemen senior ran her fastest 400 on the final lap, 1:15.80, to finish ninth in the 10,000 meters at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National meet in Bradenton, Florida. Donahue, a native of East Aurora, ran a 35:55.69 for the ninth-place finish and second-team All-American status.

Donahue earned the invitation with a school-record time of 35:35.11 at the Brockport Invitational. She won the 10,000-meters at the East Coast Conference Championship meet, and received NCAA Division II All-Region honors in both the 10,000-meter and 5,000-meter distances for the second consecutive season.
