Police: Tonawanda woman pawned stolen jewelry to pay for pill addiction

A Town of Tonawanda woman is accused of stealing about $1,900 in jewelry from a relative's home, according to City of Tonawanda police.

Christina M. McConnell, 25, told police she took rings and other pieces of jewelry earlier this month and pawned the items to get money for a "pill addiction," police said.

Police said they are attempting to recover the items from area pawn shops.

McConnell was arrested at about 6 p.m. Wednesday and held for a court appearance.
