Body pulled from Niagara River was Buffalo musician

Buffalo police identified the body of the man pulled from the Niagara River on Tuesday morning as Tyler Harrington, 48.

Harrington, of West Utica Street, had been reported missing and was last seen May 8. His body was recovered near Unity Island. Police have said they did not suspect foul play.

Harrington was described as a talented musician and artist by The Buffalo News' pop music critic Jeff Miers, a friend of Harrington's. Harrington played guitar in the band Doombuggy, which set the bar for Buffalo's garage rock and indie scene in the 1990s, according to Miers.

Police and the Coast Guard responded to a rescue call around 3:30 a.m. May 8 after a man was seen yelling for help in the river near Bird Island.
