Sex trafficking sting nabs 4 in Town of Tonawanda motels

Four people were arrested at two Town of Tonawanda motels last week as part of an investigation into sex trafficking, police said Tuesday.

The four people were charged last Wednesday and Thursday during undercover sting operations at the Knights Inn, 1970 Niagara Falls Blvd., and the Days Inn, 1120 Niagara Falls Blvd., Town of Tonawanda police said.

Those arrested included Paul Montanez, 20, of Buffalo, who was charged with fourth-degree promoting prostitution, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, possessing a controlled substance outside an original container and unlawful possession of marijuana. Also charged was Adrian Petty, 22, of Buffalo, with second-degree promoting prostitution, a charge involving a person younger than 18 years old.

A woman charged with prostitution and a minor were also taken into custody, police said.

Montanez and Petty were arraigned and released on bail. Tonawanda police worked with the Erie County Human Trafficking Task Force on the investigation.
