Cheektowaga man pleads guilty to attempting to possess child porn

A Cheektowaga man has pleaded guilty to attempting to possess child pornography, the U.S. Attorney's Office said Monday.

Andrew P. Reiner, 29, communicated with a 15-year-old girl using cellphone applications known as Kik and Skout starting last June. After learning the girl's age, authorities said, Reiner texted her messages "of a sexual nature in order to entice her into sexual activity."

Through the apps and text messages, Reiner convinced the teen on more than one occasion to sneak out of her home late at night and meet him for sexual activity. He also tried to entice the teen to ask her friends to participate in sexual activity, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. Last June and July, he also asked the 15-year-old to send him sexually explicit photographs, authorities said.

Reiner could face up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced Aug. 30.
