Two panhandlers arrested on city corner for blocking traffic

Two men trying to solicit money faced disorderly conduct charges Saturday after police said they were obstructing traffic at Goodell Street near Michigan Avenue.

Patrick Evancho and Aaron Pahute were arrested shortly after 3 p.m., police said. Evancho was holding up a sign that read "Down on my Luck," and Pahute held a sign with "Homeless. Need Help" at the time of the arrests, police said.

Pahute also had an outstanding warrant from the Town of Tonawanda for grand larceny, police said.
