A Niagara Falls convenience store owner got a little more than she bargained for after chasing after a customer who walked out without paying.

A man walked into a Pine Avenue convenience store at about 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, grabbed a bag of chips and a pop and walked to the counter for a pack of cigarettes and a cigar. He tried paying with a credit card, but got denied several times, according to a city police report.

So the man put the cigarettes and cigar in his pocket and walked out of the store, located on the 1600 block of Pine. He told the woman behind the counter he would pay for the stuff later.

She went after him, asking him to give back the merchandise, according to the report. The man, who had already crossed Pine Avenue,  pointed a gun at her and said, "If you come at my back, I'll kill you," the woman told police.

She went back inside the store and called police.
