A couple shot Thursday night near Erie County Medical Center are in fair condition in the hospital, a Buffalo police spokesman said.

The man and woman, who are both 29, were sitting inside a vehicle near the corner of Grider Street and Maple Ridge Avenue when they were struck, police said.

A police department spokesman identified the pair as a girlfriend and boyfriend. They were shot in the arm area.

Police have not disclosed their names or any further details about the shooting.
