A driver was transported to the hospital Thursday afternoon after crashing into the McDonald's on Main Street in the City of Tonawanda, police said.
Kimberly L. Bergeron, 41, of the City of Tonawanda, told police she was pulling into a parking spot at about 12:10 p.m. when her foot slipped onto the gas pedal, causing her 2008 Kia Sportage to hit the building.
Bergeron suffered shoulder pain and was taken to DeGraff Memorial Hospital in North Tonawanda, City of Tonawanda police said.
The front corner of the building shifted slightly and a door leading to the restaurant's play area was bowed. A male passenger in the car was not injured, police said.
