Niagara Falls driver charged in hit-and-run left ID behind when fleeing

A Niagara Falls woman allegedly crashed into several parked cars Sunday morning and fled the scene, but left her work ID badge behind in the car.

Latasha R. Jones, 23, of Linwood Avenue, was charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and refusing a breath test, according to a Niagara Falls police report.

The crash happened on the 500 block of 22nd Street shortly before 4 a.m. During the police investigation, an officer located Jones' work identification on the front seat of the red Chevrolet Impala that struck at least three vehicles, moving one of them between 20 and 25 feet, the police report said.

A witness told police the driver fled the scene in a black Chevrolet Impala, a car which was reported stolen from Linwood Avenue while police were still investigating the hit-and-run crash. Jones was arrested shortly before 5 a.m., the report said.
