The 26-year-old man shot Friday night on East Street is in stable condition at Erie County Medical Center, a Buffalo police spokesman said Monday.

The man, whose name has still not been released, was shot at about 10 p.m. on the 400 block of East Street between Arthur Street and Hertel Avenue, police have said. He was approached by at least two people, one of whom had a shotgun.

A private vehicle driving the victim to Kenmore Mercy Hospital crashed at Elmwood Avenue and West Girard Boulevard in Kenmore. An ambulance transported the man to ECMC.

Several hours after this shooting, another 26-year-old man was shot about a block away at Niagara and Grace streets. He was listed in critical condition Saturday afternoon.
