Niagara Falls police seek shoplifting accomplices

NIAGARA FALLS – City police are looking for three accomplices who may have aided a teen recently on an apparent shoplifting spree.

Jaykiera R. Harpham, 16, of Niagara Falls Boulevard, was arrested Friday night outside the Super Walmart store on Military Road. Police said she was in possession of about $50 worth of clothing that had been stolen from the store. She also had merchandise which appeared to have been stolen from a store in the nearby Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls, according to reports.

Four girls had been spotted shoplifting in the Walmart store around 8:30 p.m., police said, but they all fled toward the mall when confronted by store security outside Walmart. Only Harpham was apprehended, and she was charged with petit larceny. The stolen merchandise from the mall store was turned over to Town of Niagara police, who will prosecute that end of the case, city police said.
