President Trump took it on the chin on "Today" this morning from NBC analyst Nicolle Wallace, a Republican who was the director of communications for President George W. Bush.

Noting that in a Thursday interview with NBC's Lester Holt that the president contradicted his own White House staffers discussing the Comey firings, Wallace said: "I was never asked to go out and lie or caught in a lie by a president contradicting me."

She added that Vice President Pence and surrogate Kellyanne Conway have "zero credibility" after the president contradicted their talking points.

Those were pretty damning statements by a Republican.

President Trump also managed to make this weekend's "Saturday Night Live" must-see TV, with guest host Melissa McCarthy reprising her role as press secretary Sean Spicer.
