BASEBALL: PAL/Independent Health League is looking for teams, 4 divisions: 8-10 Caz; 13 & under 16 & under and 19 & under. Cost per team $325. Age cut off is May 1. BASKETBALL: Daemen College Basketball Coach Mike MacDonald and the MacDonald Basketball Academy will host Friday Night Hoops, starting June 9 until Aug. 4, from 5:30-7 p.m., in the Lumsden Gymnasium on the Daemen campus. The camp is for boys entering grades 5-12 and the cost is $200, which includes a reversible jersey and the chance to play in a practice-like setting with members of the Daemen coaching staff. Members of the Daemen Wildcats and some of the top high school coaches in Western New York will serve as counselors and guest lecturers. Call 839-8380 to reserve your spot. ... Registration is open for the 23rd Annual PAL/Independent Health League. Brackets include: Boys 10 & under; 12 & under; 14 & under and 16 & under. Girls: 12 & under and 15 & under. Cost is $295 per team. Cutoff age is June 1. Games are played Monday through Thursday, 6:00-10:30 p.m. and Saturdays (10 & under boys and 12 & under boys) 9:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting the week of June 26 at various City facilities. NFHS basketball in conjunction with PRO Training Hoops will hold a one day Drills for Skills program June 3 from noon-2 p.m. Cost is $20, space is limited and for high school students only. HOCKEY: The Buffalo Regals Jr. B team will hold tryouts May 13-14 at Holiday Twin Rinks, for players born 1997-2000. The Regals are a member of the GOJHL in the Golden Horseshoe Conference. For more details, call 510-1784.

GOLF: Terry Hills will offer free green fees for all mothers on May 14. Just pay for your cart, $8 for 9 holes or $16 for 18 holes.

SOFTBALL: The Town of Hamburg Department of Youth, Recreation and Senior Services is accepting registration for its adaptive Softball Clinic for individuals with physical and mental challenges. The program will be on Monday evenings, June 19 to Aug. 7, at the Hamburg Carnegie Park Field No. 2. Find Your Niche (individuals with Asperger’s syndrome, nonverbal language disability, NVLD, and high functioning autism) will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The Disabled but Able and Group Home participants (geared toward individuals challenged by mental and physical disabilities) follows from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The cost is $10 and includes all sessions. The Softball Clinic provides participants with a general knowledge of the game through a series of skill development stations in a non-threatening environment.
