A firefighter suffered ear burns battling a blaze Wednesday afternoon at a vacant house on Wyoming Avenue, according to the Buffalo Fire Department Alarm Office.
The fire at 634 Wyoming, just south of Kensington Avenue, was reported at 4:22 p.m., the Alarm Office said. Multiple fires were started on the first floor of the 2 1/2-story structure. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the first floor.
The injured firefighter was taken to Erie County Medical Center for treatment. Damage to the home was estimated at $80,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
