Letter: President’s foreign policy could lead to catastrophe

President’s foreign policy could lead to catastrophe

Whatever our president’s foreign or domestic policy is seems to change on a daily basis, so my worst fears are quickly allayed. However, the alarming picture in the paper of the South Korean fourth-graders learning how to don their gas masks still haunts me.

Will our innocent babes be next to train in surviving an ultimate catastrophe because diplomacy is just a day-by-day game with this president? We deserve security. Our parents of the World War II generation accepted air-raid drills as a part of life. Our grandchildren are 48 years beyond the last air-raid drill and should never have to fear again. Let’s go back to only fearing academic standards.
