In officially announcing Friday they interviewed Houston Texans director of player personnel Brian Gaine for their general manager vacancy, the Buffalo Bills also wanted to clear something up.
The job opening they're looking to fill does, indeed, carry the title of GM.
The Bills caused some confusion with Thursday's announcement that they had interviewed Carolina Panthers assistant GM Brandon Beane but never specified it was for general manager. Some in the media wondered if the failure to reference GM was intentional and that the job title would somehow reflect that the role of the person being hired would be more secondary than complementary to that of coach Sean McDermott.
On Friday, the Bills made the clarification.
According to an NFL source, the team intends to take its time in the GM search, especially because it is the first time team owners Terry and Kim Pegula are going through the process.
