May 3 WNY Driver of the Week: Joe Mancuso

Division/Track: Super Stocks/ROC Super Stock Series.

Lowdown: Mancuso founded the "Big 10" Super Stock Series in 2013 which was transformed into the Race of Champions Super Stock Series in 2016. Mancuso is the defending ROC Super Stock Series champion and began his title defense with a strong second place finish in the 2017 ROC season opener April 29 at Lancaster Speedway and Dragway. Mancuso will also travel to some higher profile events in 2017 when the ROC series is idle. He worked as a car chief in North Carolina on various NASCAR teams for eleven years before moving back to this area a few years ago. Also crews for asphalt Modified driver Chuck Hossfeld.

Accomplishments: 2016 ROC Super Stock Series champion; "Big 10" Super Stock Series 2014 champion. Also won US Open at Lancaster in 2012 and 2014 and the Dave London Memorial at Spencer Speedway in 2012.

Favorite Food: "My grandma's homemade pasta and sauce which I've now learned to make."

Favorite Music: Tragically Hip and Tool.

Hobbies: Mancuso is an avid New York Yankees fan who also enjoys going to the beach with his family.
