Tim Graham's Power Take: Typical Buffalo News; always so negative

Here is an actual conversation I had Monday with a Buffalo News reader. There were witnesses.

Him: "Why are you guys always so negative?"

Me: "We write positive stories all the time. And you'd be surprised how much backlash we get when we do."

Him: "Get outta here."

Me: "Fans are worn out and raw about it all. I just wrote Russ Brandon did a good job on something and got hammered for it. Readers were calling me a homer."

Him: "Yeah, but he's an [expletive]."

Me: "What kinds of stories would you like to see?"

Him: "You know, stuff about our high school kids doing good things."

Me: "Nobody can match our high schools coverage."

Him: "That's true."

Me: "I just wrote a huge story about Chad Kelly getting drafted by the ..."

Him: "Come on, that [expletive]?"
