Riverside Men's Shop will reopen in its new location Tuesday.
The clothing store and tailor closed its location in the Northtown Plaza Saturday in preparation for the move. The new store is located at 6470 Transit Road in Cheektowaga, across from Salvatore's Italian Gardens. It was formerly a Carquest Auto Parts store.
The Northtown Plaza has become largely vacant since it was bought by Massachusetts-based WS Development. It's being redeveloped to include a Whole Foods grocery store.
Riverside Men's Shop was established in 1918 at Ontario and Tonawanda streets in the Riverside neighborhood of Buffalo. In 1940, the building was destroyed in a fire and rebuilt. In 1999, the company opened a second location in Williamsville before losing the lease in 2004, when it closed the Tonawanda Street store and moved to the Northtown Plaza. Current owners James and Natalie Neumann bought the store in 2007.
