Paladino plans further redevelopment of former Dock at the Bay property

The chief executive of Ellicott Development Co. sees more opportunity on the 6-acre lakefront property in Blasdell that for years has been home to the former Dock at the Bay.

And he’s brought in a partner to help.

William Paladino sold half of the ownership of the sprawling six-acre property at 3800 Hoover Road and 3833 Bayview Road to Roger J. Pasquarella for $1.1 million on April 21. The Lake Erie waterfront property includes the 13,692-square-foot restaurant, with two kitchens and a large deck overlooking the lake, as well as significant additional land.

Paladino brought on Pasquarella as a part owner of the property after selling the restaurant business to Pasquarella’s son, Jay, and Angelo Canna, who run Lucia's on the Lake. They said last month they plan to turn what is now called the Dock Waterfront Bar & Grill into a Mexican restaurant known as Dos Amigos. Paladino said he and Pasquarella “will continue to pursue other opportunities to redevelop the remaining property we now own collectively.”

The Dock Waterfront Bar & Grill becoming Mexican restaurant

“We have some really good ideas in coordination with the bar itself and are excited about the future out there,” Paladino said.

The restaurant, which for years was known as the Dock at the Bay, is slated to open as Dos Amigos in June.

Paladino acquired the Blasdell property last year. He said he remains a minority partner in the restaurant.

The Lucia’s partners had previously planned to turn the Bedrock Eatery across the street into a Mexican restaurant, but that plan did not come to fruition.

“I’m very excited about this venture with both Roger and Jay,” Paladino said. “I’m confident Jay and his partner Angelo Canna will do a great job with the former Dock and give the place the proper attention it needs.”
