Muskoka Brewery releases cucumber pale ale locally

Muskoka Brewery in Ontario continues its foray into the upstate New York beer market with Cool as Cuke, an American Pale Ale with cucumber, lemongrass and a bit of a bite.

The craft brew, which weighs in at 4.7 percent alcohol, is the first of four Moonlight Kettle seasonal releases the Muskoka, Ont. brewery will launch this year in New York State.

Summertime Siesta, a dry hopped session sour, will replace it in July. In September, expect to see Season’s Change, a raspberry and lavender saison, followed in December by Portly Gentlemen, Porter with vanilla and cinnamon.

Muskoka employees worked with brewers to come up with the recipes and names.

Cool as Cuke recently joined Muskoka's Mad Tom IPA and Craft Lager beers at Consumer Beverages and other retailers. It tends to run $10.99 a four-pack.
