Firefighter injured battling blaze at vacant South Buffalo home

A firefighter was injured battling an overnight fire that damaged a vacant South Buffalo home under construction, according to the Buffalo Fire Department Alarm Office.

The blaze at 349 Germania St. started on the second floor and spread to a crawl space, the Alarm Office said.

The extent of the firefighter's injuries were not immediately known, but he was transported to a hospital.

The fire, reported at 12:28 a.m., caused about $90,000 in damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
