The speculation and rumblings have gone on for months regarding the uncertain future of Buffalo Bills General Manager Doug Whaley and the team's player-personnel staff.
Now, the conversation has been ratcheted up a notch.
Citing an NFL source, Pro Football Talk reported Wednesday that Bills scouts are expecting to be impacted by changes in their department after the NFL Draft, which runs from Thursday through Saturday.
"We are all getting fired next week," an anonymous Bills scout was quoted as saying in the PFT report.
PFT also included the following statement it received from the team: "Right now, our focus is on the preparation for this week’s draft. Like every year, evaluations of our player personnel staff take place following the draft. And this year will be no different.”
The team has not allowed Whaley to address reporters since last January's Senior Bowl. Coach Sean McDermott has done the brunt of the speaking on behalf of the team since being hired in January.
