Two pedestrians were injured Tuesday night when a driver crashed into another vehicle, a utility pole and then four parked vehicles, Buffalo police said.
One of the pedestrians, who was identified by police only as a female, suffered serious injuries. Both pedestrians were taken to Erie County Medical Center, police said.
The incident happened just before 10 p.m. near East Ferry and Moselle streets. A minivan headed east on East Ferry struck another vehicle heading in the same direction. Both vehicles began to spin and the minivan hit the pole, then went into a parking lot where the pedestrians and the four parked vehicles were hit, police said.
The two people who were inside the minivan ran from the scene but were later located by police. Police provided no further detail on their apprehension.
Police did not say whether anyone was charged. They are continuing to investigate and are awaiting results of toxicology tests.
