Volunteers can help clear the way for the spring flowers on Saturday at the seventh annual Kenmore Village Improvement Society's "Big Kenmore Clean Up," which starts at 9 a.m. at the Village Green at Delaware Road and Delaware Avenue.
Participants are asked to bring brooms, rakes, garden tools and gloves. Trash bags and disposable gloves will be provided. Student volunteers and children with adult supervision are welcome. Participants may weed many small public gardens, trim shrubs, sweep sidewalks and pick up litter.
Nearly 100 volunteers, both residents and non-residents, have made light work of past cleanups, according to the society's president, Melissa Foster. She said volunteers filled 50 trash bags with litter during a past cleanup.
