No teams have yet contacted Kings about Lombardi

Terry Pegula plans to interview the best candidates for the Sabres' open general manager job. So far, he hasn't reached out to Dean Lombardi.

Los Angeles GM Rob Blake, while introducing new coach John Stevens, said no teams have asked for permission to speak to Lombardi. Blake said he will grant permission to clubs that want to interview the deposed Kings GM.

“If we get called, yes," Blake said Monday. "We have not been contacted at all yet.”

"We’re going to move as quickly and efficiently as we can," Pegula said. "Sometimes you talk to half a dozen or some people, and you need to talk to more people. It’s all a function of how our meetings go.

"Without disclosing specifics on this search, we are going to find the best candidate – candidates – that we will bring into our organization to achieve our goals. The structure will land depending on the first person that we bring in, what his attitude is and how we should work together."
