NFL Draft Position Grades: Tight end

[2017 Draft Rankings: WR | QB | RBTE | OL | CB | S | LB | DT | Edge]

Class Grade: A. A tight end hasn’t been a first-round draft pick since 2014. That’s about to change. This draft is going to have at least one, and possibly two, players at the position selected in the first round. The overall quality here is so exceptional, as many as seven tight ends could be chosen in the first two rounds for the first time since 1973. Howard looks to be as talented a tight end to emerge from the college ranks in a long time. He’s a dynamic play-maker with the size and strength to be an effective blocker. Njoku’s an off-the-charts athlete.
