Suspect accused of terrorizing residents of Hoyt Street residence

A Rees Street man arrested by Buffalo police about 4 a.m. Sunday allegedly terrorized residents of a home in the 400 block of Hoyt Street.

Charges against the suspect, Jamel Lane, 24, include felony second-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, second-degree  menacing, reckless endangerment, harassment and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Police said that about 3 a.m., Lane stole four kitchen knives and threatened residents, then returned and broke the glass window of the front door of the house and rammed two of the knives into the living room floor. He remained in the Erie County Holding Center Sunday night.
