BLACK, Clare Patricia (Regan)

BLACK - Clare Patricia (nee Regan) A long- time resident of West Seneca, NY, and for the last 13 years a resident of Lantana, TX, died in Lantana TX on April 7, 2017. Born in Scranton, PA in 1932 to Irish-immigrant parents, Clare was one of 9 children. In 1942, she moved to Buffalo, NY where she graduated from Lackawanna High School. In 1951 she married her husband, Tom Black, Sr. Clare dedicated her entire life caring for her family, her children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She continued to demonstrate her
devotion to all children by serving lunches to elementary and middle school students in her community until the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her parents Catherine and Anthony Regan; her sisters Mary, Margaret, Helen, Catherine, Ann and Irene; her beloved Uncle Martin (Fee) Carrico; her beloved son-in-law, Gary Gaiser and her devoted brother-in-law, Kenneth Klein. Clare is survived by her husband of 65 years, Tom; daughter Colleen (Gaiser),
sons Tom (Bridget) and Shawn (Kathy); her adored grandchildren Carrie (James) Ehlert, Jay (Suzi) Gaiser, Ryan (Becky) Black, Erin Black, Liam and Patrick Black; loving great-grandchildren Hailee and Holland Ehlert, Grayson and Preston Gaiser and soon to arrive Harper Black; her sister Veronica (Francis) McCann, brother Edward Regan, devoted sister-in-law Rosemary (late Kenneth) Klein; many nephews and nieces; her best friend, Judy Seitz, and all the children to whom she served lunches right up until her illness would no longer allow . A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Philip Catholic Church in Lewisville, TX. Donations may be made to the North Texas Food Bank's backpack program at which, as Clare did for her entire life, feeds
hungry children.
