What to watch for Saturday
1. Softball - Gerry Gentner 'Just Show Up' Memorial Tournament
Some of the top softball teams in Western New York convene at Northtown Center for the fifth annual Gerry Genter 'Just Show Up' Memorial. The 16-team tournament starts at 10 a.m. and continues throughout the day until the championship games around 5:45 p.m.
First-round matchups are listed below:
- Frontier vs. Nichols, 10 a.m.
- Amherst vs. West Seneca West, 10 a.m.
- Depew vs. Williamsville South, 10:15 a.m.
- Clarence vs. Olean, 10:15 a.m.
- Orchard Park vs. West Seneca East, noon
- Lancaster vs. Sacred Heart, noon
- Eden vs. Williamsville North, 12:15 p.m.
- Williamsville East vs. St. Mary's of Lancaster, 12:15 p.m.
2. Boys lacrosse - Orchard Park at Hamburg, 7 p.m.
It's been more than a decade since Orchard Park and Hamburg, two of the most successful programs in Western New York, have faced each other in boys lacrosse.
They're scheduled to do so tonight for the first time since 2005. Class A Orchard Park sits at 4-1, while Class B Hamburg is undefeated at 6-0.

3. Baseball - Orchard Park at Williamsville North, 2:30 p.m.
Mother Nature hasn't been kind to the baseball crowd this week, but Orchard Park (2-0, 1-0) and Williamsville North (3-0, 2-0) plan on getting in their first ECIC I showdown of the season against one another on Saturday.
The Quakers have been off since an 18-1 win at Jamestown on Monday. Senior Cole Hollins has seven RBIs through two games, and three of his four hits have gone for extra bases (two doubles, triples). Classmate Jordan Lewis is 7-10 at the plate with a double and three RBIs.
The Spartans topped Frontier yesterday, 8-0. Josh Surowiec went 3-4 at the plate with three RBIs. Luke Terri went 3-3 with a pair of stolen bases. Their other two wins have come against sectional contenders Lancaster and Williamsville East, both 3-2.
4. Girls lacrosse - Williamsville North at Hamburg, noon
Hamburg (2-3, 1-0) and Williamsville North (3-2, 0-1) are set to warm up the turf at Howe Field earlier in the day.
The Bulldogs snapped a three-game losing streak with a 10-9 win at Niagara Wheatfield yesterday. Abby Wright scored five goals, including the game-winner, and Emma O'Neill added four. Jess Graber made seven saves.
The Spartans lost to Wheatfield, 19-4, on Wednesday in their lone league game so far. Sophomore Ryleigh Bies leads the team with 18 goals and 20 points. Classmates Leah Horton (11 points) and Haley Sliwa (10 points) are next with 6 goals each.
