We must improve, increase train service and ridership

For the record, I favor the Central Terminal site, but the way I see it, the problem isn’t where people get on the train. The problem is how to get people on a train. We need to improve and increase train service and train ridership! Not just east and west service but southbound service, too. We can’t get to Pittsburgh or Washington, D.C., out of Buffalo.

It’s time for the federal and state governments to work together to bring about improved track and high-speed rail service along the Empire Corridor and revive some old routes out and into Buffalo. The politicians want to spend $1.2 billion for a 6-mile extension of Metro Rail. That money would be better spent improving train service.
