Letter: High cost of drugs may be root of the problem

High cost of drugs may be root of the problem

Is it the Affordable Care Act or President George W. Bush’s Medicare Part D prescription drug plan that is the reason for the increase in insurance premiums? I feel it is the drug plan, not the Affordable Care Act as many people are implying.

I had an Independent Health plan in 2016. In 2017, the premium went up $65 per month. According to a letter I received from the Social Security Administration, 20 cents was going to Medicare and $64.80 was going to the prescription drug plan. I feel perhaps Rep. Chris Collins and the other Congress members should look into the massive increase in the cost of drugs.
