April 20 – Lake Erie Chapter- Fly Fishers International will hold its monthly meeting at the American Legion Post #735 on Legion Drive in West Seneca. Fly tying begins at 6 p.m., business meeting begins at 7 p.m.. Preparations for the 7th Annual Ray's Kids Day will be the focus of the meeting. April 23 - Boston Valley Conservation Society, 9624 Zimmerman Road, Boston, will host a spring trap league starting April 23rd. Sign up times are: Sundays; 9 a.m.-12 noon and Thursdays 6-8 p.m. The league will run for 10 weeks. Teams, individuals and practice shooters are all welcome. Questions: 335 - 4111

April 25 – WNY Chapter of Trout Unlimited monthly meeting at the Donovan Post, 3210 Genesee St, Cheektowaga starting at 7:30 p.m.   Guest speaker will be Sherri Voss, representing WNY Lyme – a group dedicated to informing and helping the public on Lyme Disease.  Lyme Disease is a very real danger in WNY for anyone who spends time outdoors.

April 25 – (rescheduled) Eastern Waters Council of Fly Fishers International fly tying event at Orvis Eastern Hills Mall, 4545 Transit Road, Williamsville starting at 6 p.m. Attendees need to register by April 18. Featured fly tyers include Sam Decker, Craig Buckbee, Rodney Priddle. The Lake Erie Chapter of Fly Fishers International is also sponsoring the event. Register by calling 276-7200 or 675-4766.

April 29 – U.S. Coast Guard Flotilla 3-1 About Boating Safety course at the Fort Niagara Officer’s Club, Youngstown from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call Robert Hasse at 954-3453 to preregister. This is a required class for anyone born after May 1, 1996 if you want to operate a boat or jet ski.
