Heroin, cocaine, shotgun found after woman overdoses in Niagara Falls

Police responding to a drug overdose call Sunday on 16th Street in Niagara Falls recovered heroin, cocaine and a loaded shotgun, according to a city police report.

A woman found slumped over the steering wheel inside a car in the 400 block of 16th Street at about 5 p.m. was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for treatment, the report said. In addition to several hypodermic needles, police also found metal knuckles in the car.

Andrea M. White, 26, of 16th Street, later was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, according to the report.

Inside a nearby apartment, police found multiple hypodermic needles, plastic baggies with a white powder residue and a loaded shotgun.

Ben J. DelZoppo, 36, of 16th Street, also had several packages of heroin and cocaine. DelZoppo was charged with third- and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. DelZoppo told officers he had a prior conviction for criminal possession of a weapon and was not allowed to possess a gun. He also was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
