Community Beer Works is hosting its Fifth Anniversary Extravaganza from noon to 8 p.m. April 22. The party will take place at the site of its future expanded brewery, 520 7th St. Tickets are available at eventbrite.com ($15 pre-sale, $20 at the door), and include a 16-ounce stainless steel fifth anniversary pint glass as well as one glass of beer, wine, cider or cocktail.

A special anniversary beer will be on tap, along with food from Lloyd Taco Truck and Frank Gourmet Hot Dogs.  Dram Box is serving cider, wine and cocktails. There will be live music plus l as contests and giveaways.

42 North's Fuk Wednesday

42 North Brewing Company (25 Pine St., East Aurora) is tapping three sour beers and spinning some vinyl for Funk Wednesday on April 19. The beers include sours from Thin Man Brewery, Two Roads Brewing (Stratford, Conn.), and Zero Gravity Brewery (Burlington, Vt.).

The brewery also will be serving its Nomad sour ale from its Surveyor Series (10-ounce pours). At 5 p.m. April 20, the brewery will host Blackbird Cider Works for the tapping of its Dabinett Dry English Cider. Call 805-7500.

Pizza Plant Sour Power

Pizza Plant (7770 Transit Road, East Amherst) is hosting another of its Fab Five Series featuring five great beers from a single brewery at 4 p.m. April 21. The beers, from Upstate Brewing Company, are Mole Imperial Stout, El Dorado DIPA (Double India Pale Ale), Ipso Lacto Dry-Hopped Berlinerweisse, Brunch Coffee Brown Ale and 2017 IPA.

It is also hosting its popular Sour Power at 5 p.m. April 23. The event includes numerous sour beers on tap and in bottles, as well as flights. Available beers include Mikkeller SpontanLingonberry, Allagash Farm to Face, Cascade Cranberry and Cantillon Kriek. Call 632-0800.

Colter Bay tap takeover

Colter Bay (561 Delaware Ave.) is holding a tap takeover featuring several breweries at 11:30 a.m. April 22. Beers from Firestone Walker, Ommegang, Boulevard, Duvel, Liefmans and Brasserie D’Achouffe will be there. Call 436-5197.

A Polish smoked beer

Buffalo Brewing Company (314 Myrtle Ave.) will have a traditional Polish smoked beer (Grodziskie) starting  April 20. This is a 3 percent alcohol by volume beer. The brewery also is tapping a New York State-grown session IPA using local hops and malt. Call 868-2218.

Brunch 'n' Brews at 12 Gates

12 Gates Brewing Company (80 Earhart Drive, Williamsville) is hosting its first Brunch ‘n’ Brews at noon April 23. The event features $1 off pints of its coffee porter, food from You Crack Me Up truck, music by the cover band Gravy, and samples from Lockhouse Distilling of its Revolution Coffee Liqueur (made in collaboration with Public Espresso + Coffee). Beer Goddesses to meet

The Buffalo Beer Goddesses is holding its free monthly social, open to all, from 6 to 10 p.m. April 20. This month the social is being hosted at Salumeria Belsito (1368 Hertel Ave.).
