Lockport woman charged with impaired driving after crash

LOCKPORT – A Lockport woman faces an impaired driving charge after a crash on Sunday, State Police said.

Marquita D. Woolford, 61, struck another vehicle while turning from South Transit Road onto Bartz Road. Woolford told police she had taken medication prior to the crash, police said.

She failed field sobriety tests and was charged with driving while impaired by drugs. She was also charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

At the Lockport barracks, a drug recognition expert evaluated her, police said. Woolford refused to consent to a blood test.

A Lockport Town judge arraigned Woolford and released her to a third party.
