SCORE Buffalo Niagara has launched a radio show on WUFO 1080 AM, in hopes of diversifying its base of volunteers and clients.
SCORE provides advice to small businesses that are either just getting off the ground or trying to grow. The local chapter has 76 volunteers.
"We looked at our client base and we realized that there's an area that's underserved, and that boils down to the African-American, Hispanic and immigrant population," said John Vitale, chairman of the SCORE Buffalo Niagara chapter. "We're doing something about that."
The half-hour radio show airs 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays. The 13-week series of shows began April 4.
Arba Cooper, a co-host, said the program will highlight SCORE's services, publicize client success stories and talk about how to help businesses get started and grow.
