Letter: Free tuition is unfair to many New Yorkers

Free tuition is unfair to many New Yorkers

I have some serious concerns about the free tuition in the state budget. A working professional couple can easily make over $100,000 per year. They have a mortgage, car payment and children. They have done everything the right way and I would hardly call them rich. However, the state feels they do not deserve tuition help and should even pay $200 more. To me this is redistribution of wealth. It was clearly done for political reasons. New York State continues to be one of the worst states in which to do business, and this certainly doesn’t help.
