Jeffrey M. Glatz, the former Niagara County manager, announced this week he is running for a North Tonawanda Common Council seat in this fall's election.
Glatz was appointed to a vacant alderman-at-large seat on the Council in early February, taking a seat left open by the resignation of Catherine D. Schwandt.
Glatz, a member of the Independence Party, is running for a full four-year term in the at-large post, seeking Republican and Conservative support.
“I’m honored that the Council displayed confidence in me to serve the residents of North Tonawanda as alderman at large. The community also showed its confidence when I was elected to the North Tonawanda Board of Education in 2007, serving one year as board president before becoming county manager," Glatz said.
Glatz, a former Air Force lieutenant colonel, also has worked as a nursing home administrator.
"My experience and proficient leadership will benefit the residents of North Tonawanda," he said.
