Lackawanna man pleads guilty in cocaine case tied to public housing complex

A Lackawanna man could face 80 years in prison and a  $10 million fine when sentenced July 19 after pleading guilty to charges that he conspired with others to distribute crack cocaine at  Lackawanna's Gates community, a 127-unit public housing complex on O’Dell Avenue..

Waldemar Pabon, 29, appeared before U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny Wednesday and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of a public housing authority.  Assistant U.S. Attorney George C. Burgasser noted the crime occurred from early 2014 and Dec. 5 of the same year.
