Homeroom Announcements: Tuesday's big games & more

Get yourself ready for today's #PrepTalkLive action with everything you need to know about the day ahead in high school sports.

What to watch for Tuesday

1. Baseball - Kenmore West at Hamburg, 10 a.m.

Hamburg (1-1) always has the propensity to reload from graduation losses, and this season will be no different. Junior Jake Storey was on the All-ECIC I second team last year, and lefty pitcher Devon Crowley appears to be the top arm on the team. The Bulldogs have a win over Iroquois and a loss to Williamsville East, one of the top contenders in Class A.

Kenmore West (1-0) didn't have any first team All-Niagara Frontier League members from last year's 12-9 squad, but the Blue Devils return a trio of second-teamers in Domonic Schmidt, Ben Serrano and Richard Fries. West won it's season opener against NFL foe Lew-Port last Monday, 5-2.

2. Boys lacrosse - V-Aquinas at Nichols, 5 p.m.

Nichols (3-2) hosts Rochester Catholic school Aquinas (2-1) in the lone boys lacrosse game on Tuesday.

The Vikings lost their first two Monsignor Martin contests of the season to Canisius and St. Joe's but have won all three nonleague matchups against McDowell (Pa.), Williamsville South and Bethel Park (Pa.).

One of Aquinas' games came against Monsignor Martin's St. Francis, a 13-7 win for the Little Irish.

3. Baseball - Lockport at Roy-Hart, noon

Roy-Hart (2-0) is among the favorites in the Niagara-Orleans League after going 16-6 last season. Alex Xapsos, Cam Meadows and Eric Fitch are returning second team all-leaguers. Senior Nick Kubas already has two home runs for the Rams, who've picked up wins over WNY Maritime and Barker.

Wyatt Redburn and Brian Chatt were All-NFL second teamers last season and are among the six starters returning for the Lockport (1-0), which went 6-12 in 2016. The Lions beat North Tonawanda in their lone game to date.
