Stolen gun recovered in Jamestown vehicle stop

JAMESTOWN - Police said they found a stolen gun during a traffic stop early Sunday morning.

Officers pulled over a car at Prospect and Barker streets at about 4:47 a.m. for vehicle and traffic violations, Jamestown police said.

A loaded gun that was reported stolen out of Jamestown on March 19 was found inside the vehicle, according to police. The two people inside the vehicle, Sharef D. Corley, 19, and Karee J. Rizzo-Walker, 20, both of Jamestown, were charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and second-degree obstructing governmental administration, police said.

Both Corley and Rizzo-Walker were being held in the city jail pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
