It’s finally safe to say it. Spring is here.
The proof? No snow in the forecast for the week ahead. No ice either. Temperatures from now through next Sunday are supposed to stay above freezing.
Monday will be so nice it will feel like we’ve skipped straight ahead to summer. There will be sunshine, warming things up from a mild morning low around 50 to highs in the mid to upper 70s. The exception will be along the Lake Erie shore, where a stiff southwest breeze will keep things as much as 10 degrees cooler.
But it won’t last. Clouds are due to thicken overnight, bringing showers and thunderstorms Tuesday. Daytime highs in the 60s are expected to drop to about 40 Tuesday night.
The outlook for the rest of the week is typical April – daily highs in the low to mid 50s, overnight lows in the mid to upper 30s. Wednesday and Friday should be mostly sunny. The biggest risk of rain is Thursday night and again late Saturday.
