Passenger in Niagara Street traffic stop charged with cocaine possession

A West Avenue man was charged with felony and misdemeanor drug counts following a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Niagara Street about 11:30 p.m. Friday.

Damian Gregory, 41,  is charged with fifth- and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.  Officers reported finding a foil package containing cocaine next to Gregory, who was a passenger in the vehicle.

While booking the suspect, police said, a cigarette pack containing 7.5 grams of cocaine  was found in the suspect's underwear. Gregory remained in Erie County Holding Center Saturday night.
